Beeswax is a natural wax produced by honey bees of the genus apis. The wax is formed into scales by eight wax-producing glands in the abdominal segments of worker bees, which discard it in or at the hive. The hive workers collect and use it to form cells for honey storage and larval and pupal protection within the beehive.


Apperance : white or yellowish-white poeces or paltes, translucent when thin, with a fine-grained, matt and non-crystalline fracture. When warmed in the hand they become soft and malleable.

Odor and Taste : It has an odour similar to that of white beeswax, though fainter and never rancid. It is tasteless and does not stick to the teeth. Solubility practically insoluble in water, partially soluble in hot ethanol and completely soluble in fatty and essential oils.
